This Saturday’s Sky Bet League One game against Blackpool will be refereed by Andy Haines…
This weekend’s fixture will be Haines ninth game in charge of a Southend game, with the experienced referee already officiating one of Blues’ games this season.
This came on 3rd October 2017, when Southend hosted Reading U21’s in the Checkatrade Trophy group stages.
He brandished just one card in that game, which was a yellow and went to Marc-Antoine Fortune for a bad foul.
His last match came back in February when Grimsby hosted Exeter in League Two, the visitors came away with a 1-0 win, but not without the share of the spoils as both teams received a yellow card and Exeter then went one man down in the 81st minute after Haines showed a red card..
So far this season he has taken charge of 28 games spread across League One & Two, the Checkatrade Trophy, the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup and has shown 85 yellow cards and five red cards this season.
