In three weeks Southend United Community & Educational trust have been out and about in schools holding penalty shootouts to help raise money for the schools.
SUCET have been to Hockley Primary, St Mary’s Boston, St Mary’s East Street, St George's and Prince Avenue as they look to raise funds for childrens learning.
This is a great time of year for the penalty shootouts as the sun is always shining, and it gets the children out of the classroom.
Each child gets sponsored to take 6 penalties, and it makes a great way for the school to raise money for new equipment. But it also gets the kids moving and active in the summer.
For taking part in the fundraising scheme the schools receive awards that are handed out by the SUCET team which can vary from trophies, medals and certificates. The top three kids that scored the best goals are given a Southend United home shirt and the top fundraiser is handed a full replica Blues kit.
This scheme is all part of the Kinder +Sport Joy of Moving Festival.
