The striking duo of Theo Robinson and Amadou Ba were a key part of Blues' 3-0 win over Bishop's Stortford last night and the partnership has been blossoming during pre-season...
Both forwards have been hard at work in pre-season as they prepare for a tough campaign and after both netting in the game last night, morale is high for the both of them.
On the game
Theo Robinson – It was a good game to play in, obviously it's even better to get a goal but we all did well, won 3-0 and kept a clean sheet. I played 75 minutes, I probably could have done more but it's good to get as many minutes as I can.
Amadou Ba – Yeah it's nice to get two goals, I'm really enjoying pre-season, me and Theo are linking up well and I'm working hard in training to get into the first team next season.
On fitness levels
Theo – I am feeling better each game as I go, there's just one more game to go in pre-season before the season gets going so I'm getting the training in and hopefully I can get involved as much as I can.
On captaining the side
Theo – I told the gaffer (Chris Powell) that I wanted to be a contender and I don't mind being a captain. It's the first time I've been a Southend captain and we got a good 3-0 result and I think the lads took it well.
