Amadou Ba was on target for Blues in their second pre-season friendly this morning which ended in a 1-1 draw.
In very hot conditions at their training base in Spain, Chris Powell once again named two different XI’s in both halves to take on an Aberdeen Development Squad.
Luke Hyam made his first appearance for Blues since joining, having missed the win over Great Wakering Rovers on Saturday.
Stephen McLaughlin was first to have an effort on goal, shooting wide from long range, but not long after he was at the centre of Blues’ opening goal.
A well-struck shot from the winger, once again from distance, was saved and Ba pounced to head home after the ball looped up into his path.
Not long after going ahead, Timothee Dieng had a chance to add to the lead but he saw his header come back off the crossbar.
Just before the break Mark Oxley was called into action to make a save from Sean Linden for the Scottish side.
Powell rung the changes at half time and it was Sam Barratt who was quick into the action, having a shot saved from the Aberdeen goalkeeper.
The Dons grew into the game and went close through Millo Virtagen’s close range header.
And the Blues backline was breached following that good chance when Michael Turner was dispossessed and an Aberdeen striker found the bottom corner of the net, and that's the way the score stayed.
