SUEPA – Growing from strength to strength

After its launch two weeks ago, SUEPA – the Southend United Ex-Players Association – is fast becoming a social media ‘must follow’ for Shrimpers fans.

With over 50 ex-players/previous coaching staff already signed-up, fans are watching what is happening with increasing interest. Over 650 followers now keep a look out for details of who is the latest SUEPA signing on the Twitter page @SUEPAssoc whilst the Facebook page is approaching 300 followers.

Ex-Shrimpers signed up to SUEPA include players across the last six decades, from Billy Best through to Mervyn Cawston, Ian Benjamin, Roy McDonough, Spencer Prior, Darryl Flahavan and Johnny Herd. SUEPA also have two ex-managers on board and even one of our previous kit men!

On Thursday, Stan Collymore became the latest former player to sign up!

SUEPA President Adam Barrett said: “I’m delighted to hear SUEPA has started so well and that so many ex-players have already signed up. It would be great to some more of my old team mates join as we had so many great times together.”
