Saturday’s Sky Bet League One game against Scunthorpe United will be refereed by Craig Hicks…
This weekend’s fixture will be Hick’s second game in charge of Blues since the start of his career.
His one and only Southend game that he officiated came earlier on in the season when Blues visited YeovilTown in the FA Cup Round 1.
The game saw the hosts win 1-0 after a penalty from Otis Khan in the 29th minute.
Hicks brandished three yellow cards in the game with one going to Michael Kightly for a bad foul.
This season he has officiated 27 games spread across League One, League Two, the Checkatrade Trophy and the FA Cup.
Hicks’ last match came on Saturday, refereeing our Essex rivals Colchester, in their League Two game against GrimsbyTown. The result ended in a 1-1 draw with one card being shown in the game.
This has brought his grand tally of total cards shown up to 320 yellow cards and 14 red cards since his first game back in 2013.
