Ahead of tomorrow's game against 21st placed Oldham we dive into the archives and look at the history between the two sides...

The biggest result recorded between the two sides was a 6-1 home victory for Blues, which was the second time the two sides had met at Roots Hall.

The first Southend away game at Oldham took place in February, this match saw Blues come out victorious after putting three goals in the hosts net.

The two sides have met a total of 38 times, with Blues winning 16, drawing 10 and losing 12 games against the Latics.

Despite Oldham being founded in 1895, they have won less football league trophies than Blues have:

Blues are on a three games unbeaten run against the Latics, with the last time they lost being back in 2015. (Southend 0-1 Oldham).

Southend haven’t lost at the SportsDirect.com Park in the league since 1997, the result ended 2-0 to the hosts.

The two sides have met in just one other competition outside of the league, this is the FA Cup which has seen them come together a total of three times (W1 D1 L1).
