History Books: Blues vs Posh

1 February 2018

We dive into the archives to see the history between the two sides...

The first ever meeting between the two sides was on Boxing Day 1961.

Blues have lost just one of their last five league meetings at the ABAX Stadium.

The biggest win Blues have recorded against the Posh is 4-1 which has happened on two occasions, in 1985 and last season with both wins being away games.

Blues are more successful against Peterborough in the league than are in any other competition against the Posh (with Southend winning 20 league games and Peterborough winning 19).

The two clubs have shared a lot of player history with the likes of Mick Bodley, Kane Ferdinand, Shaquile Coulthirst, Tyrone Barnett, Britt Assombalonga and current player Anthony Grant all playing for Southend and Peterborough during their career/s.

Out of the 55 games played between the two sides only four of them have ended in goalless draws.
