Chris Powell says Harry Bunn won’t be available against Rochdale but hopes he can play a part over the Christmas period.
The winger picked up a knock on his thigh against Portsmouth which kept him out of last weekend’s win over Accrington Stanley.
So the Blues boss is expecting a similar squad to the one that secured a 3-0 victory last weekend to be available for the visit of Keith Hill’s side.
“Michael Turner didn’t train all week last week but passed a fitness test on Saturday morning so that’s why I put him on the bench against Accrington because I felt his experience might be needed.
“He’s been training which has been good for him. But we’re just looking at the players that we’ve got.
“We had a number of younger players in the squad and they’ve got a game today which hopefully they will come through and be available again.
“The majority of the players are long term. Harry Bunn, I think Saturday will come too soon.
“He got a bit of a knock on his thigh at Portsmouth. We thought it was a dead leg but it might be a little bit more, maybe a few fibres.
“It’s not as bad as we thought but he still won’t be available for Saturday.
“Hopefully he’ll be available for the Christmas period but Rochdale is too early.”
