This year’s Junior Blues Christmas party was another huge success...
For the second year running, we hosted the event at PlayFootball Southend so the kids could get even closer to their heroes.
The afternoon started off with a quick warm-up session that was carried about by our Community & Educational Trust Coaches with a number of Blues first team members and Sammy the Shrimp also taking part.
A number of the kids were showing off their skills and footballing talents with Blues winger Stephen McLaughlin taking the full force of humiliation as a Junior Blues member rainbow flicked him during the first session.
After the warm-up drills were completed the children and players were separated into teams to play two 11+ v 11+ matches across the 3G pitches at the PlayFootball centre.
Shortly after the matches were finished the kids were given that chance to refuel their tanks with some food, including Pizza, Chicken Dippers and a selection of vegetables.
To finish off the night a magician entertained the children, he showed off his amazing talents and tricks as he wowed the audience.
At the end of the wonderful event, all the Junior Blues members were handed Christmas presents by a selection of the Southend United first-team squad.
Everyone at Southend United would like to wish all the Junior Blues members a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
