Chris Powell said he is hopeful of a couple of players returning from injury in time for Saturday’s game against Charlton.
Blues have an injury crisis in midfield with Dru Yearwood, Luke Hyam, Timothee Dieng and Sam Mantom all doubtful with problems.
But Powell said there’s a chance of Mantom and Dieng being available on Saturday.
“Our only out and out midfielder at the moment is Michael Klass but hopefully Sam [Mantom] will be OK,” said the Blues boss.
“Tim Dieng has done some work and we’ll see if there’s any reaction to that, so hopefully he will be fit as well.”
Yearwood is making progress with his hamstring injury, and he is now getting involved some first team drills.
“Dru is doing a little bit of ball work with us now," Powell added. "Whether that’s passing drills or possession games, but we’re making sure no-one tackles him just because you have to get your eye in again like in pre-season.
“He’s running every day and we’re mindful that it’s a long road and it’s been a tough period for him, at such a young age.
“He’s in the gym and getting stronger, but would I think it would be unfair to put a timeframe on it.”
Harry Lennon will miss the game against his former side, and Rob Kiernan and Ted Smith are still out.
