Gavin Ward to take charge of MK Dons game

Blues' game against MK Dons will be refereed by Gavin Ward...

The experienced referee has already officiated four Southend games this season, making Saturday's game his fifth.

Ward's last Blues match came on 30th December 2017 when Shrewsbury visited Roots Hall, the result ended in a 2-1 win for the visitors with four yellow cards being shown in the game with one going to Michael Turner and another going to Josh Wright.

Ward’s previous game came last weekend when Yeovil Town hosted Wycombe Wanderers, the game ended in a 1-0 win to Wycombe with two yellow cards bring brandished.

This season ward has brandished atleast one card in 38 out of his 41 games so far, bringing his tally up to 114 yellow cards and four red cards from the start of the season.
