Crystal Palace 6-1 Southend

Despite opening the scoring Blues lost their lead after an awful second half performance.

Andy Rammell scored Blues only goal with a shot from outside the box early into the first half.

Carl Veart scored the home sides equaliser on the stroke of half time.

Jason Harris put the Eagles in front just after kicking off the second half.

Bruce Dyer scored two in 10 minutes putting Blues down 4-1.

Just when Ronnie Whelan’s side thought the goals had stopped Andy Roberts scored to in the closing minutes to put 6 past Blues keeper Paul Sansome.



Southend 1-0 Exeter

A late goal from Blues secured all three points on the day.

Graeme Jones came close to scoring in the first half with a long range shot in the 36th minute.

It wasn’t until the 84th minute that Mark Salter scored the winner with a close range shot that fired into the top right corner.



Gillingham 0-0 Southend

Blues were held to a goalless draw at Priestfield Stadium.

Barry Corr came close to scoring for Blues in the first half with a close range chance he set past the post
