This weeks player of the past is Michael Ngoo...
Michael Ngoo started his career with Southend’s youth academy. He never made a senior appearance while with the club but during his youth years he attracted a lot of attention and spent time on trial at Manchester United representing them at U16 level.
He eventually moved to Liverpool in 2009. In the 2010/11 season he played in the U18s squad and scored 15 goals in 21 appearances, the following year he was the reserve team’s top scorer.
He signed his first professional deal in 2013 but failed to make a first team appearance as he spent most of his time on loan.
He moved to Kilmarnock in 2014 and signed a two-year deal but at only 21 he wasn’t given much game time and only made seven appearances in his two-years in Scotland.
After a short spell with Bromley he moved to Oldham Athletic in January last season and played against Blues when Oldham came to Roots Hall on 1st April; the result ended 3-0 to Southend.
After making 13 appearances and failing to score a goal he was released, and in the summer of this year he signed for Albanian side Tirana on a one-year deal; with an option of an extension to a second-year.
