Last season Drysdale brandished 67 yellow cards and three red cards across 22 games spread across League One,Two and the Checkatrade trophy. His career has spread across 13 years which has seen him show 926 yellow cards and 63 red cards so far.
Saturday will be Drysdale’s ninth Southend game that he will take charge of. His last Southend game came when Blues hosted Chesterfield on 5th March 2016 which saw him brandish three yellow cards with one going to a Southend United player, which was Ben Coker.
He started his refereeing career in League Two back in 2004. His first game came on 7t August 2004 when Rushden drew 0-0 with Kidderminster in a League Two game. Since then he has gone on to referee in the Championship with his most recent game coming on Tuesday which saw him take charge of Oldham’s game against Bury which saw the hosts win 2-1.
