Tranmere 1-1 Southend

Blues scored a late goal to deny the home side all three points.

Chris Malkin opened the scoring in the 24th minute to put pressure on Blues.

Adam Locke scored Blues equaliser in the 88th minute as the defender rose up to a John Cornwell cross and headed the ball into the top left corner.



Southend 1-2 Huddersfield

A late goal from Danny Schofield denied Blues from taking any points on the day.

Leke Odunsi opened the scoring in the 43rd minute to put Blues in front.

The visitors scored just two minutes later to change Rob Newman’s half time team talk.

Danny Schofield scored the winner for Huddersfield in the 89th minute to deny Newman’s side a draw.



Dagenham & Redbridge 1-3 Southend 

Two goals from Ryan Hall and a goal from Neil Harris secured Blues a comfortable win in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Hall opened the scoring in the 30th minute to give Blues an early lead.

The home side equalised early in the second half to put pressure on Paul Sturrock’s side.

Hall put the visitors in front for the second time in the 74th minute.

Neil Harris scored the final goal to deny Dagenham moving onto the next round of the cup.
