Southend 4-1 Swansea
David Webb’s side earned a comfortable win over Swansea in the English Division 3.
Blues opened the scoring eight minutes into the game when John Cornwell nodded home a corner kick.
Paul Moran scored Blues second on the stroke of half time.
Swansea pulled a goal back five minutes into the second half to put pressure on Webb’s side.
But Brett Angell settled to the score with two goals in the final ten-minutes.
2004
Darlington (Old) 4-0 Southend
The home sides Alun Armstrong bagged a hat-trick as Darlington secured an easy win.
The home side opened the scoring when Armstrong beat Flahavan with a diving header and Clyde Wijnhard doubling the lead moments later.
Darlington took a 3-0 half time lead when Armstrong was presented with an easy tap in from a low Craig Hignett’s cross.
Armstrong completed his hat-trick in fine stlye as he latched onto a long ball and lobbed the keeper.
2012
Southend 0-1 Burton
An injury time goal denied Paul Sturrock’s side a point from the game.
John Spicer was shown red in the first half for a harsh tackle on former Blues player Matt Paterson.
Jacques Maghoma scored the injury-time winner as the visiting side took all three points.
