Out of the 39 times the two clubs have met we have beaten Oxford 22 times, drawn eight and lost 19 times.

The first time the two clubs met was on 25th August 1965, which saw Blues loss 3-2 after a late goal from Oxford. But the reverse fixture saw Blues win 2-1 at Roots Hall.

Blues are currently on a nine-match unbeaten run against Oxford United, with the last time Southend losing against the U’s being on 21st August 2012.

Southend have scored 72 goals against Oxford, with tomorrow’s opposition only scoring 56 goals against us.

The last time Blues lost against Oxford at Roots Hall was back on 28th December 2003, the result ended 1-0 to the visitors after Mark Rawle scored the winner in the 68th minute.

We have faced Oxford in the FA Cup twice with both games being the first and second leg of the competition in the 2007/08 season. Southend beat Oxford 3-0 at home on 11th December after a double from Charlie MacDonald and a penalty from Dean Morgan.
