In-depth history of Yeovil v Southend

3 November 2017

We take a long look at the history books to see how we fare against tomorrow's opposition Yeovil Town...

Our first away game against Yeovil Town was on 20th November, just five days after our first ever meeting against the Glovers which took place at Roots Hall.

We have played Yeovil Town a total of 17 times in all competitions, with three of those games being FA Cup Games. Yeovil come out on top with two wins to Blues' one.

In all meetings between the two sides, Yeovil have scored 18 goals against us, with Blues scoring 16 goals against them.

Blues have only lost five times at Yeovil’s ground since our first meeting back in 1958, making our away performances better than our home performances against tomorrow’s opposition.

We have never faced Yeovil in the Checkatrade Trophy competition, or in any league game above League One.

We have faced Yeovil more times at Roots Hall (9) than we have at Huish Park (8) due to Blues hosting Yeovil in the Capital One Cup in 2013, which was the last time the two sides met.
