History Books: Blues V Dons

Southend United V MK Dons

21 November 2017

We take a long look at the history books to see how we fare against MK Dons...

The two sides have met a total of 10 times with Blues winning two, drawing one and losing seven games against MK Dons.

We have never faced the Dons in a professional competition in January, May, August or September.

The first time Blues faced the Dons was on 3rd December 2005 at Roots Hall, Southend lost 2-1 as they were knocked out of the FA Cup.

Southend have only failed to score against the Dons on four occasions, the last time Blues failed to score was on 6th October 2009 when MK Dons won 2-0 in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

Blues all-time leading goal scorer Roy Hollis scored 135 goals during his time with Southend United which is almost double what MK Dons all-time leading goal scorer Izale McLeod scored which is 71 goals.

MK Dons most internationally capped player Simon Church made eight appearances for his country while at the Stadium MK. But Blues' most internationally capped player Jason Demetriou, has made more appearances for his country, as the current right-back has reached 12 appearances while with Southend.
