Southend United are asking fans to vote for their October DeVines Player of the Month.

You can vote for the following candidates:

  • Simon Cox
  • Marc-Antoine Fortune
  • Ryan Leonard
  • Mark Oxley

Simon Cox took the lead as Blues' top scorer this season after scoring the only goal against Walsall last weekend, bringing the striker's tally up to four this season.

Marc-Antoine Fortune found his way back into the starting XI against Peterborugh in League One and repayed the Manager's faith by getting on the scoresheet in the 1-1 draw. Phil Brown praised the pairing he and Simon Cox have struck, saying "Marc-Antoine Fortune feeds off intelligent play. He brings experience, the hold-up play and is a very intelligent footballer."

Ryan Leonard scored a stunning long-range strike in the 84th minute against Bury to help Blues record their first win in October, and notably showed his defensive capabilities with an incredible last ditch tackle which kept the score at 0-0. Leonard also stepped in as replacement centre back as injuries struck Phil Brown's side.

Mark Oxley has once again played a vital part in helping the side to points in October with some incredible saves at times. Southend's number one has continued his consistent start to the season with three clean sheets in the month and some saves in the games against Walsall, Bury and Peterborough that were exceptional.

Voting is open until Friday 3rd November and the winner will be presented his award later on this month.

To cast your vote head to Blues’ official twitter account @SUFCRootsHall and make your vote count.
