Phil Brown says Southend United need to show the same mentality as they did away to Walsall in the Emirates FA Cup this weekend.
Blues visit Huish Park to face a Yeovil side who have lost just once at home in the league all season.
And Brown believes the application of his side will be all important in the First Round of the famous competition.
“They’re a hard-working side which is synonymous of the manager,” he said.
“They have that little sprinkling of quality but he [Darren Way] will be disappointed with his appeal against one of the sending’s off last week. They’re down two players, which might affect his system, it might affect his formation, but it won’t affect his mentality.
“He [Darren Way] will be working hard and being resilient I would imagine to try and stop us from going through with an easy ride.
“Huish Park is notorious as being a difficult venue to go to, but it’s not the park, it’s not the stadium it’s the mentality of the players and the manager.
“We’ve got to be on our mettle with and without the ball and I we’re good enough on the day then hopefully we’ll go through and be in the second round.”
Brown added: “If I can put the same team out I will do. That’s not giving anything away, it’s just a case of how serious I’m going to treat the competition as I’ve always done.
“There will be one or two sitting on their backsides thinking they have been left out harshly and they will want to put that right.
“The only way to do that is to play.
“There is the opportunity to look at one or two, but I would only do that if there is an injury.”
