The Manager pre-Bristol Rovers...
Blues Boss Phil Brown feels the week ahead will be “the most important” of the season.
After Bristol Rovers on Saturday are games against Coventry on Tuesday night and Walsall the following Saturday.
And Brown said it will be a big seven days for Blues.
“It’s the most important week of the season,” he said. “If we’re going to do anything this season we need to get a massive points return.
“A lot of people are saying what the points total will be and how many games we need to win from the last 11, but there’s nothing better than winning your next game. That’s what we’ll be trying to do against Bristol Rovers.”
The Pirates are unbeaten in eight games but have been draw specialists in recent weeks, drawing six of their last seven.
“Drawing six of the last seven is probably not the kind of form you want to be coming into the game but undefeated in eight is a different way of putting it,” Brown added.
“The manager [Darrell Clarke] is very young, he’s very innovative. He’ll change his system from game to game and change his personnel from game to game so what’s going to come out of their changing room I don’t know.
“I just know it’s a fairly hostile atmosphere when you go there.
“They’re well supported as a home team. The pitch is not really conducive to playing great football but it’s a big open space.
“Hopefully the pace and width that we’ll play with will cause them enough problems to win the game.”
