A look back at previous results in Round One of the League Cup
Southend have played at home in four of the last five opening rounds of the League Cup, also playing at Roots Hall in six of the last seven years.
However, not since 2010 have Blues progressed past Round One in the competition, when Matthew Paterson’s extra time goal beat Bristol City in a 3-2 win.
This year the competition has been re-branded the Carabao Cup, but here we take a look at the previous five League Cup Round One outings before the draw takes place at 1pm.
