Macca commits his future to Blues!
Southend United are delighted to announce midfielder Stephen McLaughlin has signed a new three year deal.
The 27-year-old has been at Roots Hall since joining on loan in 2015.
He played a big part in Blues’ promotion from League Two that year, scoring in the play-off semi-final against Stevenage and then playing 60 minutes at Wembley against Wycombe in the Play-Off Final.
The Irishman soon signed a permanent deal at the start of the 2015/16 season in which he scored once in 18 games
He followed up his first full season at the club with his best in English football last season, scoring eight goals in 38 appearances despite missing two months through injury.
Speaking about his new contract, McLaughlin said: “I’m already settled here but now I know my future I can really look forward to the next few years and what it holds for me.”
