PREVIEW | Demetriou eager for "winning feeling" again

13 January 2017

Right back looks ahead to Rochdale game...

Jason Demetriou says there is a burning ambition in the squad to put right the wrongs from last week’s defeat to Sheffield United.

Blues came unstuck against the Sky Bet League One leaders, which brought to an end a 13-game unbeaten run.

And the Blues right-back said everyone in the squad is looking forward to the chance to bounce back against Rochdale.

“We have high expectations for ourselves and we didn’t really turn up last Saturday, which was a shame.

“We know that we weren’t really at it for whatever reason, but that happens. In 14 games, you’re going to have one bad one, so let’s make it right on Saturday.

“We know what to expect this weekend against Rochdale. There’s no tension amongst the lads, it’s more excitement to put it right.

“You can’t beat that winning feeling and I think we were getting used to it, not losing. That's what we need to get back to."

Rochdale are currently six points above Blues in the table and visit Roots Hall to play Blues who are the midst of some big games.

Bolton, Fleetwood and Scunthorpe are the next three games and Demetriou added: These next three or four weeks are important games.

“They’re games we want to be involved in. But we need to get a few wins.”

Tickets are still available to purchase either online, in person from the Roots Hall Ticket Office or from the Blues Box Office by calling 08444 77 00 77.
