PREVIEW | Brown relishing Sheffield United test

5 January 2017

Boss can't wait to take on league leaders...

Blues boss Phil Brown insists there will be no fear when his side takes on the league leaders this weekend.

Sheffield United, like Blues, have climbed the league since the last time the two teams met at Brammall Lane back in August, which Blues came out 3-0 winners.

And Brown says he is relishing the challenge against Chris Wilder's in-form team.

"If I can continue to get my strongest team out, then I've got no fear of taking anybody on in this division," he said.

"It really, really wets my appetite. I'm licking my lips in anticipation, but Chris Wilder will be doing the same.

"He's coming into this game in a rich vein of form, we're coming into this game in a rich vein of form. They're the league leaders with a big fan base.

"A lot of people say they shouldn't be at this level but they are.

"It's just a case of getting it on."

Blues have three consecutive home games coming up, with Rochdale and Bolton after the Blades.

And Brown said the form Blues are in makes these games an exciting prospect.

"We've played Bradford twice and got four points, Bolton Wanderers away and got a point there, we went to Brammall Lane and won - Rochdale were a bit of a thorn in our side if truth be known. But I'm looking forward to the encounters and none more so than in front of a full house at Roots Hall on Saturday.

"They'll be smarting, no doubt about it from the defeat at Brammall Lane back in August, but that's a long time ago and a lot of water had gone under the bridge since then.

"They'll be delighted with their form, I'm delighted with our form, so I'm looking forward to it rather than dreading it because you could be coming into the next five or six games not in the form we are in."

Tickets for the game are available online, in person from the Roots Hall Ticket Office or by calling 08444 77 00 77.
