Updates on Coker, Oxley, McLaughlin and Inniss
Phil Brown has good and bad news on the fitness of his squad.
There is good news regarding Ben Coker, Ryan Inniss and Mark Oxley, but not so good with Stephen McLaughlin who is expected to be out for 8-10 weeks.
Brown said: “Ben [Coker] is available for selection and back in the squad.
“I’ve got to take into consideration Michael [Timlin’s] form because he’s played the last eight or nine games and in that time he’s got five clean sheets.
“Obviously he’s not alone, he’s in a back four and the goalkeeper’s changed hands and the team that has played the last eight or nine games has had the right mentality.
“Last week we didn’t have the right mentality but that will change. I guarantee.”
However, although Ryan Inniss will be back on the training pitch next week, McLaughlin is set for a period on the sidelines.
“Stephen looks like he’s going to be out for a couple of months.
“Mark Oxley got the all clear with regards to needing an operation and that is a success that he doesn’t need one.
“Hopefully he will be back in a couple of weeks and competing with Ted Smith.
“It’s got to be said Ted Smith’s stood up to the test and certainly stepped up to the plate. That provides a nice problem when Ox comes back.”
