Boss gives weekly fitness update
Mark Oxley is close to a return to first team action after missing the last three weeks with an elbow injury, Phil Brown has confirmed.
The Blues boss gave his weekly injury update on Thursday ahead of the clash with Bolton, and Brown hopes to have Oxley back in time for Fleetwood.
However, he gave no promises that he would slot straight back into the first team, with Ted Smith stepping up in his absence.
"Mark's looking very positive," he said.
"He needs a little bit more strength work in his elbow to clear him out of the treatment room.
"This game is going to be a game too early. I think he'll be available for the Fleetwood game but Ted Smith has stepped up to the plate. Ted's been different class and the experience that he's gleaned over the last three or four games is going to be priceless to him and us as well.
"Where Ryan Inniss is concerned, he's in non-contact training which I can't for the life of me imagine him being involved in.
"He's out there with the players and has been for the last three or four days.
"We just need to get him back out there as quickly as we possibly can, along with Mark Oxley, along with David Mooney, along with Ben Coker who is available for selection."
