Watch Blues on Boxing Day as they take on Charlton Athletic at Roots Hall

22 December 2017

Watch Blues face Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day...

Southend United face sixth-placed Charlton Athletic on Boxing Day with a 1pm kick-off.

The traditional Christmas period is a great time to watch football in England and Blues are, for the second season in succession, at home.

Blues tend to like playing on Boxing Day having won their last five fixtures the day after Christmas. Not since 2009 have Blues lost, which came at home to Colchester United.

Last season Blues beat AFC Wimbledon 3-0, the year before was an Essex Derby 2-0 win over Colchester which came the season after a 1-0 win on the road at Cambridge.

Karl Robinson’s Charlton are the visitors this season, and the Addicks are one of the sides that Blues are chasing for a play-off spot, making it a huge game against the south-east London side.

In the reverse fixture, Charlton came out on top.

But at Roots Hall, where Blues have lost just once all season, Phil Brown’s side will be confident of testing the Addicks who have lost their previous two games.

Your support is going to be vital, so come along to Roots Hall and watch  Blues take on the Addicks.

We have now opened the whole of block X due to limited seating in the West Stand. (These tickets are available to purchase online).

Tickets that have already been purchased in another section of the ground cannot be moved into this block.

We recommend that Blues fans wishing to purchase tickets for families choose to sit in the South Lower section of the ground rather than Block X.
