Michael Turner gave his thoughts on the defeat, on the team performance and on the tough Christmas fixtures…
On the defeat
I don’t think we started too well in the first half. It took us a while to get into the game, but after that initial period I think we were probably on top for most of the match. I think in the second half we were brilliant, we were 1-0 down but we came out on the front foot and deservedly levelled the game up. But it’s massively disappointing that it all went wrong right at the end of the game.
On the team’s performance
When you're at home you want to start fast and get the home crowd behind you, but it just didn’t start well at all, and I’m not sure why. But once we got into the game I think we dominated. In the second half we were playing on the front foot and pressing to get the equaliser, and when we did I felt like we could have gone on and won the game.
On the tough Christmas fixtures
The gaffer decided to leave Cox and Ferdinand out of the side, but you have to remember that we have some big games coming up, so it’s important that everyone is ready to play and everyone is ready to make an impact. We’ve got some quality players in the squad and I think playing against the top teams in the division brings out the best in those players. The tough games are what we all look forward to the most as a group.
