After the full time whistle Keith Stroud would have taken charge of his seventh Southend game.
His last Southend game came on 28th November 2015, when Blues hosted Wigan Athletic.
He brandished six yellow cards in the game with three going to both sides. Adam Thompson, Will Atkinson and David Mooney were the Southend players that received the cards.
Stroud started his refereeing career in the Football Conference back in 2003, rapidly making his way up the divisions as he took charge of his first Premier League game on 15th August 2007, just four years after starting his career.
This season he has been referring in the Championship, apart from his opening game of the season, which saw him take charge of Bradford’s 3-1 win over Peterborough on 9th September.
Stroud’s last game came on 9th December when Burton hosted Preston, the visitors won 2-1. He brandished five yellow cards in the game which has brought his total of cards shown up to an impressive 1,901 yellow cards and 104 red cards since his first appointment.
