This year’s Junior Blues Christmas party turned away from the usual ten pin bowling as we hosted our first party at PlayFootball Southend…
The evening started off with a short training session that was carried out by our Community & Educational Trust coaches. These sessions gave the children the opportunity to warm up and train with the Southend United squad. The various training sessions included, shooting drills, dribbling practice and a penalty shootout.
Once the warm ups had been completed the children and players engaged in small 5v5 games that allowed them to show off their football skills in front of Phil Brown’s squad.
A short dinner break gave the children a chance to meet and talk to the players, while getting their belongings and shirts signed. The children were then entertained by a magician, who showed off his amazing talents to both children and Blues players.
At the end of the Christmas party Blues captain Anton Ferdinand and Ryan Leonard handed out Christmas presents to all the children, as all the players helped to spread the festive cheer, wishing all the Junior Blues a Happy Christmas.
We would like to say thank you to the Shrimpers Trust for all their help with the Junior Blues Christmas Party and we hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
