Wednesday’s Checkatrade Trophy Round Two game against Peterborough will be refereed by John Busby...
Tomorrow’s cup game will be Busby’s second game in charge of Southend this season, bringing his tally up to three games in charge of Blues since his first appointment.
Busby’s last Southend game came earlier in the season, when Blues faced Wigan Athletic on the 14th October.
There was only one card shown in the game which saw Jermaine McGlashan sent off.
He has been refereeing for just two years, starting in the National League, quickly working his way up the divisions, making League One his highest appointment to this date.
Busby’s last game came on 29th November when Fulham U21’s visited Crawley Town, the result ended 3-1 to Fulham with no cards shown in the game.
Since his first appointment he has shown 231 yellow cards and 14 red cards.
