Blues Academy acquire 18-seater minibus thanks to the support of the Shrimpers Trust

7 December 2017

The Shrimpers Trust’s continued support of the Southend United Academy has allowed Blues to acquire an 18 seater minibus for the Academy to use throughout all age groups.

The Blues Academy provides excellent coaching and development opportunities for young footballers, with a clear pathway to the first team.

Phil Brown has continued to utilise the academy players throughout his time at Southend United with the likes of Dru Yearwood and Elvis Bwomono playing a key part in Blues’ season so far this year.

Paul FitzGerald, Chairman of the Shrimpers Trust was pleased to help the Blues youth set up even further, “We’re delighted once more to be able to continue our support of the Academy and we look forward to seeing more starlets being produced by Ricky Duncan and his team.”

Ricky Duncan, Head of the Academy was thankful of the Shrimpers Trust, “The support we receive from the Shrimpers Trust is invaluable and this is just another example of the work they do to help us as an Academy.”
