A look back at some games that occurred on this day in Blues history
Watford 1-0 Southend
The second leg of the English League Cup game against Watford ended in a 1-0 defeat on the day and on aggregate.
Both sides needed a goal to get through to the next round after a goalless draw in the home leg the previous week.
Craig Ramage was the only goal-scorer in the two legs as he put Watford in front in the first half.
Blues forward Jamie Forrester struck the post in the second half but no more efforts came from the Southend side.
Southend 0-3 Mansfield
A hat-trick from Iyseden Christie saw off Blues in the third game of the 2003/04 Division Three season.
A strong Southend side played well in the first half and almost scored the opener when Kevin Maher’s shot was tipped over the bar by Kevin Pilkington.
But just before half time Christie scored to put Mansfield in front.
Christie got his second in the 51st minute before completing his treble in the 90th minute. making a comeback hard for Blues.
It left Blues 16th after one win and two losses.
Carlisle 1-1 Southend
The long journey up to Brunton Park for Blues fans ended in a stalemate, leaving the hosts still winless after four league games.
Antony Sweeney opened the scoring to give the Cumbrian side the lead which looked to be the result heading into half time.
But Blues midfielder Conor Clifford fired home on the stroke of half time to get the team back into the game.
