John Adams (right) to be remebered before kick-off against Blackburn Rovers
Before kick-off tomorrow we will be holding a minute silence to honour the life of former Southend United CEO John Adams.
John sadly passed away at the end of July.
He spent 15 years with the club between 1984 and 1999 and during his tenure five trophies were won as well as a promotion, to what is now the Championship, for the first time in the club’s history.
Owner at the time Anton Johnson brought John to the club from Rotherham United.
Many successes were enjoyed by John and former Southend chairman Vic Jobson during a period which also saw England’s World Cup winning captain, Sir Bobby Moore, manage the club from 1984 to 1986.
