Elvis Delighted To Make First Team Debut

30 August 2017

Elvis Bwomono gave us his reaction to making his first team debut in the 2-1 defeat to Gillingham in the Checkatrade Trophy.

On being picked by the gaffer for his first team debut…

It was crazy, I tried my hardest to compose my emotions and everything but in the end, I was fine. I was happy, pleased and determined to make sure I played well.

Words can’t explain how happy and pleased I am, to finally be chosen, to work hard day in day out and for it to happen for me against Gillingham, I’m very happy for it.

On the defeat and his part in Blues' goal…

I’m very disappointed that we didn’t win. I thought from the game we should have won, but I’m very happy with my performance and I think I got into the game very well. I want to be on the front foot all the time and that’s what I did with our goal. I went in, played it out and from there we went on and scored.

On the injuries in the team which could lead to a League appearance this Saturday...

There’s potentially a chance, all I can do is do my talking on the pitch and we’ll see from there but I hope to be playing Saturday and if I am I’d be very pleased.
