Singer Adam Duffill returns to Roots Hall

16 April 2017

Lifelong Blues fan and singer Adam Duffill will perform before MK Dons game...

We are pleased to once again welcome back Hockley-based Singer/Songwriter & huge Blues fan Adam Duffill as part of our pre-match entertainment before the MK Dons game on Easter Monday.

A lifelong Shrimper who held a season ticket and regularly attended away games until his career began to progress, he now performs throughout the UK and has enjoyed some fantastic experiences in the music industry.

Adam's greatest success to date was his participation in the UK Songwriting Competition last year.  Out of 10,000 competition entrants, the Rochford-born performer was one of only 25 songwriters who reached the London Grand Finals, performing his self-penned song 'I'll Be Waiting' to a capacity crowd'.

Reviews have been complimentary towards the 27-year-old's guitar playing and vocals - the latter of which reviewers have described as a 'Penetrating, Distinctive Voice' with 'Dulcet Tones'.

Adam himself is very excited to be performing at the club he has been a lifelong fan of: "I grew up as a season ticket holder in the West Stand.  My Dad first took me when I was 7, my favourite player quickly became Andy Harris, and despite it being a relegation season for us I lived for Southend games on a Saturday."

However, at the age of 18 it was evident that Adam's singing would be the more likely route to fulfilling his dream of performing on the hallowed Roots Hall turf: "As I got into my late teens and my musical pursuits began to become more serious, my goals of pulling on the blue shirt started to be replaced with thoughts of what it would be like to sing in front of that crowd.  I still have to pinch myself at getting  get the same excitement and enjoyment that I had the first time I sang at Roots Hall back in 2008 and I'm hugely grateful to everyone connected with the club for making it happen and to the fans for the reception and kind words of support they've given me - I'm still living the dream every time I walk down the tunnel."

As well as a few upbeat covers to get the Blues faithful in full voice, Adam will be playing his new single 'Bright Blue Eyes' from his forthcoming full band EP titled 'Torch To Light The Universe', which will soon be available on iTunes.
