INJURY REPORT | Coker struggling to be fit for Saturday

20 April 2017

Left-back in a race to be fit for Shrewsbury...

Ben Coker is doubtful for Saturday’s game at Greenhous Meadow where Blues face Shrewsbury Town.

The left-back had hoped to make a comeback from a knee injury this weekend.

While that still remains a possibility, Brown says it’s looking unlikely he will be fit to play a part.

“The only doubt we’ve got for Saturday is Ben Coker,” said Brown.

“He did a full session yesterday and I was hoping he would play a major role on Saturday but he’s still feeling it a bit and I don’t want to put him into a game and then he breaks down.

“He’s a feisty character and a hardy lad and he wants it to be fair to him but it would probably be too much of a risk.

“We’ll assess him today and tomorrow. He’s still with the physios and the fitness coaches. He’s not going to train with the first team today but if he comes through that and trains tomorrow then I still might throw him in. But I don’t know yet.”
