Keeper drafted in following injury...Blues have signed Christian Walton on an emergency loan from Brighton & Hove Albion after keeper Ted Smith suffered an injury.
Walton has been drafted in from the Championship Club, starting with today’s game against Oldham Athletic. Walton joined Brighton from Plymouth Argyle in February 2013 on a three-year deal before signing a new four-year deal in July 2014.
Blues Boss Phil Brown praised the scouting department at the Club.
"Ted had a scan on his wrist yesterday afternoon.
"With our extensive scouting system, we managed to acquire talented Christian Walton from Championship side Brighton & Hove Albion
"After getting the results from Ted's scan, we expect him to be out for around seven to ten days.”
Walton made his Albion senior debut for the Seagulls aged 18 in a League Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane in October 2014.
The keeper has also represented England at under-19, under-20 and under-21 level. He recently had a successful loan spell at Luton Town where he made 33 appearances for the Sky Bet League Two outfit between August 2016 and January 2017.
