MATCH PREVIEW | Brown looking for another committed display v Peterborough

29 September 2016

Blues Boss previews Posh...

Phil Brown is hoping his players can bring a similar level of performance to the table against Peterborough United to that of Tuesday’s night’s hard-fought win over Oxford United.

Southend take on the Posh at Roots Hall on Saturday (3pm kick off), looking to build-on the midweek win over the U’s and Brown is looking for similar application from his players against tough opponents.

“I was looking for the key reasons why we won on Tuesday night and I thought it was a lot to do with the togetherness and the commitment of the players.

“The commitment was there from minute one until minute 98 when the final whistle went.

“So the big question is; can we get to that standard of performance again?

“I don’t think the change of management (at Peterborough) has changed their style of play at all.

“They play in a diamond formation with a lot of good footballers in there and defensively we’ve got to be organised and solid.

“And when we regain the ball against Peterborough I expect us to keep the ball a little bit better.”
