Looking to work in sports media at a professional football club?
Southend United are looking for a Media & Marketing Matchday Assistant to help the Media & Marketing department, the role would suit someone looking to gain experience within the sports PR / Marketing industry.
Southend United have increased their matchday content meaning an extra pair of hands is required on matchday to help maintain and improve the current level of coverage provided.
Duties will include:
- Generating content on all social media channels in the build up to the game including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat etc.
- Contributing to match reports, editing match photos etc.
- Assisting the Media & Marketing Executive with the co-ordination and delivery of post-match press conference and interview requests.
- General administration
The suitable candidate will possess a knowledge sport media, excellent communication skills, a good eye for detail and have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Knowledge of Southend United Football Club in general is preferable, but not essential.
Please note this is a matchday role so you will be required to work home matches, if you can work away matches it is an added bonus. This is role isn’t paid but any expenses incurred will be refunded by the Club.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to work in sports media at a professional football club, a number of staff in the Marketing & Media Department both took this pathway before full employment so it does work!
