NEW CONTRACT | Harry Kyprianou signs new deal with Blues

31 October 2016

Defender signs until June 2018

Southend United are pleased to announce that Harry Kyprianou has extended his contract at the club until June 2018 with the option for a further year.

Kyprianou broke into the first team at the start of the season, making his mark with a goal on his first team debut against Brighton & Hove Albion U23’s in the EFL Cup.

The 19-year-old left back followed that up days later with another goal on his league debut in the 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

Kyprianou is the latest player to graduate from Blues’ Academy and told southendunited.co.uk he’s delighted to have put pen to paper on a new deal.

“I’m happy to get it sorted and I’m looking forward to hopefully pushing back into the team and making a difference,” he said.

“I’m not going to rest on my previous games, I’m looking to make another push and hopefully I can play some more games and if I’m lucky score some goals as well.

“Obviously it’s difficult having someone like Ben Coker ahead of you but at the same time I have learnt a lot from him and will continue to do so.”
