Defender signs until June 2018
Southend United are pleased to announce that Harry Kyprianou has extended his contract at the club until June 2018 with the option for a further year.Kyprianou broke into the first team at the start of the season, making his mark with a goal on his first team debut against Brighton & Hove Albion U23’s in the EFL Cup.
The 19-year-old left back followed that up days later with another goal on his league debut in the 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers.
Kyprianou is the latest player to graduate from Blues’ Academy and told southendunited.co.uk he’s delighted to have put pen to paper on a new deal.
“I’m happy to get it sorted and I’m looking forward to hopefully pushing back into the team and making a difference,” he said.
“I’m not going to rest on my previous games, I’m looking to make another push and hopefully I can play some more games and if I’m lucky score some goals as well.
“Obviously it’s difficult having someone like Ben Coker ahead of you but at the same time I have learnt a lot from him and will continue to do so.”
