Blues Boss reacts to Rochdale loss...Phil Brown felt the 3-0 defeat at Rochdale boiled down to the mentality of his players as they suffered their third consecutive away defeat.
Despite picking up seven points from their last three home league fixtures, goals from Niall Canavan, Calvin Andrew and Nathaniel Mendez-Laing continued Blues poor run on the road.
And Brown believes that comes down to the mindset of his players, and it is a problem that needs arresting quickly says the Boss.
“For me it comes down to mentality, it’s as simple as that.
“It’s all about bottle; when you cross the white line it’s you against you the individual, it’s units against units and it’s a team against a team.
“And in the first half the difference wasn’t a case of their team was better than ours, it was the fact that their team was prepared to put their head on the line in the six-yard box and we weren’t, and that for me is mentality.
“Next Saturday’s game (Home v Chesterfield) is now a massive game, and I’ve got a hard week’s work ahead of me.
“I believe I have got the right group, but we’ve got to make sure that when we do travel we’ve got to get that mentality right.”
