MATCH PREVIEW | Coker looking to take home form on the road v Bantams

17 October 2016

Blues full-back previews Bradford City...

Ben Coker is hoping the Blues can take the positives from their formidable home form of late as they try to get back to winning ways on the road against Bradford City on Tuesday night.

Southend travel to the Northern Commercials Stadium at Valley Parade on the back of a battling 1-0 home victory over Chesterfield at the weekend; a result that lifted Blues out of the League One drop-zone and made it six unbeaten at home.

Although against tough opponents with a bumper crowd expected, Coker says the players are thoroughly looking forward to the challenge.

“Saturday’s result was just what we needed.” He said.

“At home we look a real force now and are proving hard to beat so now we just take that away from home and get a result on Tuesday.

“It is tough, and we have been working really hard on the training ground in the last couple of weeks and I’m sure our away form will soon turn around.

“Bradford’s ground is a great stadium to play in and we love playing there and although we didn’t get a result there last season, it was a great experience.

“They are a massive club, and they probably don’t deserve to be where they are with the following they’ve got, but that’s football and we just want to go at them, press and have a right go.”
