Blues manager previews the trip to Stadium MK...Southend United boss Phil Brown is expecting his players to bring a similar performance to the party at MK Dons to that of Tuesday night’s battling draw at Bradford City.
Blues head to Stadium MK on Saturday (3pm kick off) looking to build on a home win against Chesterfield last weekend and the point gained in West Yorkshire in the week, whilst facing a Dons side who are looking for their first home win of the season.
That said, Brown urges that his team must bring their best game to the table if they are to take anything off Karl Robinson’s side and continue to build momentum.
“MK Dons have got goals in them, but they will concede goals.” He said.
“Their 3-3 draw against Bristol Rovers in the week was quite a shock to me as going into the last couple of minutes they were 3-1 up.
“So to draw that game would have been a blow to them I would have said, so psychologically they’ll be feeling it a little bit, as opposed to us where we’re on a high from a good result where we could have won it in the end on Tuesday night.
“We’re going into this one with some confidence, but not taking it for granted by any stretch of the imagination as they are a good side with some good players, certainly in attack with a good young manager in Karl Robinson.
“He (Robinson) will be confident because they are at home, but hopefully we can be as resilient as we were on Tuesday night and a little bit more clinical."
