BROWN | Blues' win over MK Dons was a pleasure to watch

22 October 2016

Blues Boss on 3-0 victory over MK Dons...

Southend United Manager, Phil Brown feels his players have now found their feet and are ready to kick on following the 3-0 win against MK Dons at Stadium MK.

The Blues were straight out of the traps in this one, going a goal up inside the opening two minutes as Simon Cox fired them infront.

After dominating early proceedings, Blues doubled their advantage on 24 minutes as Anthony Wordsworth struck with a low effort into the corner.

And the midfield man in-form struck again in the dying minutes with a beautifully crafted free kick to hand the Blues the points and take them up to 15th in the table, and four points off the play-offs after taking seven points from their last three games.

And Brown, reflecting on the win over the Dons, admits it was a pleasure to watch his side.

"I think 3-0 was a fair reflection of the game.

"There was even a couple of great chances before we got the third, but the handbrake is now off well and truly, and when you take the handbrake off you start expressing yourself and with the quality we have got it is a pleasure to watch.

"The fantastic following will go home today and hopefully spread the word and the next game against Shrewsbury is now the most important one.

"But we've got seven points from the week's work with two clean sheets and my goalscorers are scoring goals now which is good news.

"You could try and pick out one or two stand-out performers but it would be a waste of time, there was a whole team out there that gave their all for the traveling support."
