BARRETT | Players will work hard to turn away form around

10 October 2016

Defender frustrated by Rochdale defeat...

Club Captain, Adam Barrett says the team must work hard to rectify their away form and move away from the danger zone in Sky Bet League One.

After going five undefeated at home in all competitions, away results are proving the Achilles heel for the Blues, losing their last three on the road.

Though there is still a long way to go in the league season, Barrett urges that it is a problem that needs solving quickly and the players will have to fight tooth and nail to turn it around.

“It’s very frustrating.” Barrett said speaking after the Rochdale defeat.

“We can’t put a finger on it at the moment, it’s chalk and cheese between home and away.

“If we go a goal down away from home we’re really struggling to get back into it, so it’s very disappointing.

“I don’t think we pressed high up the pitch like we have done at home recently and it gave them far too much space and time.

“We’ve got big characters in this squad and sometimes you are on these runs and it is difficult to get out of, but we’ve got to keep working extremely hard, dig in and we’ve got to turn it around.”

Blues were backed in numbers once again by the magnificent travelling support, and Barrett is urging all supporters to continue sticking by the team as they look to work their way up the table.

“There’s loads of games left and lots of points to play for, but we’ve got to start getting some results, especially away from home and keep our home form going the way it is.”

“We going to need our supporters, they’ve been magnificent since I’ve been through the door and they’ve been right behind us.

“We’ve got to give them something to shout about, they travelled to Rochdale in their numbers again to give us the tremendous following we always get.

“All I can say to them is that we will be working extremely hard, and will give everything we’ve got to make sure to get out of this situation we’re in at the moment.”
