MATCH PREVIEW | Leonard hoping to get back to winning ways at Bury

10 November 2016

Blues midfielder previews Bury game

Ryan Leonard feels Blues must forget Tuesday's result and concentrate on the positive league form prior to the game in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Blues suffered a 4-0 defeat to Stevenage and an unfortunate loss to Millwall by a solitary goal, but are unbeaten in the league in four prior to that.

And the midfielder is confident Blues will recover from the two cup results.

"We need to move on from Tuesday as quick as possible,"he said. "It wasn't a good night but we'll move on from that and we'll try to play the way we've been playing in the three or four games in the league and Millwall on Friday.

"If we can put in more performances like that then we'll win more games than we lose.

"I think having a more consistent team has helped us pick our form up because we understand our games a little bit more.

"We've got a bit more attacking play with the two full-backs so we seem a bit more comfortable with the ball.

"I think we're playing some good stuff in midfield and up top as well.

"We knew we had good players but it takes time to work at and we're starting to get that."

Bury haven't won in nine games but Leonard is focussing only on what Blues do.

"Bradford and MK Dons were two really good results so if we can play like that then hopefully we'll get the three points," Leonard added.

"I know they're not in the best vein of form at the moment so if we can take advantage of that then hopefully we can get them."
